How should we get started?
Contact me by submitting a message, emailing me directly at nishmabarron@gmail.com, or calling me at 770 209-2280. I make every effort to respond within a business day. We’ll set up a 10 to 15-minute phone conversation so I can learn a little about your reasons for seeking therapy and answer any questions you have, and we’ll take it from there.
What is your fee?
I work with a range of fees and reserve a few slots for reduced fee services. Reduced fees are negotiated based on what you can afford and what my practice can accommodate at the time. We can talk about this during our initial phone conversation.
Do you take insurance?
I do not. I’m an “out-of-network” provider. If you are utilizing out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with an insurance-friendly invoice that you can submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. After payment of a deductible, out-of-network benefits likely cover a portion of my fee. You can also use the invoice to obtain reimbursement from a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account.
You say you work with individuals. Does that mean you don’t see couples and families?
That’s correct. Working one-on-one is my forte and it’s what I enjoy the most!
There are about a million therapists on the internet! How do I decide?
The bottom line is – you should work with a therapist with whom you feel heard and understood, and only you know when that happens. It may take conversations with several people before you make a decision. If there’s an area of your life you’re hesitant to talk about, you can ask a question in a general way during an initial phone consultation. (“Do you have experience working with XYZ?”) The answer should give you some sense of whether that part of you might feel welcome. Hopefully, each conversation will give you a little more information about what it is you are looking for in a therapist.
Ok, I’m convinced! Where do we go from here?
